PACE 'Film Fiesta' has had the distinction of being listed in the
Limca Book of World Records in 2003 for being the largest children's
movie festival in Asia.
Breaking old records and setting new ones in 2006 the festival
was held in three phases from:
17th - 28th April - Rang De Basanti and Hanuman
29th August - 30th September - Krrish and Iqbal
1st October - 16th October - Krrish
Over 245 shows were held at ten conveniently located movie halls
across the city namely Sangam, Sapna, Paras, Regal, Vishal, Janak,
Batra, Alpana, Delite, M4U and Neelam in Faridabad.
In the first phase students enjoyed the blockbuster Rang
de Basanti which was greeted with thunderous applause and
patriotic fervour. The first-of-its-kinds animation movie Hanuman
entertained children with its technical excellence. Both the movies
not only to entertained the young viewers, but also to inspired,
motivated and instilled in them the values of national pride, leadership
and teamwork.
In the second and third phase the all time blockbaster Krrish
enthralled the enthusiastic audience while Iqbal proved
to be extremely popular and the halls reverberated with cheering
and applause each time the hero a deaf and mute boy struck an emotional
cord as he surmounted difficult challenges with a never say die
attitude..
To sensitise the young audience to the pressing evil of drug abuse
and to empower them to say no to drugs, the festival was an opportunity
to spread social awareness messages in the form of slides, promotional
materials and badges in partnership with the UNODC.
Teachers accompanying the students were appreciative of the continued
efforts being made by HT-PACE in providing children an opportunity
to experience the world of insipirational movies with their friends.
Mrs. Suman Sharma, from Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan said, "The
students had a great time at the movie festival."
