'Space Station 3D'- the first ever IMAX 3D space film - was screened
at special viewing for over 350 Principals of Delhi and NCR schools
by HT PACE and Rap Adlabs Cinemas in Pacific Mall, Sahibabad on
March 16. The world wide release was held on March 17,2006. Produced
by IMAX Space Ltd.and presented by Lockheed Martin Corporation in
co-operation with NASA, the film is the first cinematic journey
to the International Space Station, the Research Laboratory orbiting
in the vaccum of outer space, engaged in the study of the effects
of long-term exposure to zero gravity, was assembled by men and
women of sixteen if nations in the initial step towards the global
co-operative effort neededif man is to set foot on Mars someday.
Technically dazzling, with breathtaking 3D imagery, the audience
was transported 220 miles above Earth at 17,500 mph to experience
life in zero gravityabroad the new station. The magic of the IMAX
3D technology coupled with the specially designed massive 450 sqm
screen and digital surround sound created a cinematic experience
that was ten times bigger than normal cinema.
