Kaleidoscope 2006, the annual PACE inter-school
painting competition, was a riot of colours that added to the air
of festivity at the India Gate Lawns on Tuesday morning. The competition,
held in association with Horlicks, saw participation from over one
thousand students who very effectively displayed their creativity
by painting their interpretation of The Delhi that I love
and My Vision of Success in the Senior category i.e
classes 7-9 and My favourite Hero and Caring for
Animals in the Junior category i.e classes 4-6.
The School Band of Ryan International School, Noida greeted Mr.
Rakesh Sharma, Vice President, North, HT Media Ltd. and the judges,
Naresh Kapuria, Kanchan Chander, Bulbul Sharma and Subroto Kundu.
The students of Sanskriti School presented a beautifully choreographed
Kathak Dance a performance set to teen taal and in Raag
Miyan Malhar.
While the students painted, the teachers not to be left behind,
enjoyed a special session conducted by PACE Consultant, Parbati
Poddar this included Slogan writing, Dumb-charades
and a Fun Quiz.
Bulbul Sharma praised the students on their wonderful works of
art and emphasized that they must enjoy painting regardless of winning
or losing, while Subroto Kundu also encouraged students to paint
and develop their talents. Kanchan Chander congratulated the young
budding artists on their bright and lively works, she also appreciated
the band from Ryan Intl School, Noida and lauded the excellent dance
performance by the students of Sanskriti School.
In the senior category the first prize went to Sriradha Jha, Lotus
Vally Intl. School, Noida, second to Vinay Luthra, Sachdeva Public
School, Pitampura and third to Himanshu Kohli, Vidya Public School.
In the junior category, the first prize was won by Dishaddra Poddar,
Ryan Intl. School, Mayur Vihar, second by Siddhant Bajaj of R.S.
Jr. Modern School, Humanyun Rd. and third by Shriya Mondal, Summerfields
School, Kailash Colony.
