St. Columbas' lifts the InQuizitive Trophy

 

In keeping with past tradition 'InQuizitive 2006', the annual mega national inter-school quiz was held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium on August 8. Quizzing icon Mr. Siddhartha Basu conducted the Delhi and the National Finals keeping the audience and the participants on their toes.

The Quiz commenced with the preliminary round followed by the Delhi finals followed by the National Finals where the Delhi winners competed with their counterparts from Jawahar Lal Nehru School, BHEL,Bhopal St. Fidelis College, Lucknow, Kundan Vidya Mandir, Ludhiana and St. Xavier's School, Jaipur.

The 6 Delhi finalists were:

1. St. Columba's School, Ashok Place

2. Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri

3. Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram

4. Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan

5. Mother's International School, Aurbindo Marg

6. Sommerville School, Noida

St. Columba's School, Delhi swept the first position followed by Jawahar Lal Nehru School, BHEL, Bhopal as the Runner Up and St. Fidelis College, Lucknow as Second Runner Up. Little Flower Senior Secondary School bagged the team prize for Best Banner while St. Thomas School won the Best Cheering Team Trophy.

Super Cop Kiran Bedi conducted the celebrity round and media personality Sunit Tandon compared the show.

Noel Thomas and Sujay Mathias from St. Columba's School, the winners of Inquizitive 2006, were ecstatic about their victory, Mathias said," Participating in this quiz contest was a very different experinece for many reasons. the questions were typical not general ones that everyone knows about." His teammate Thomas agrees, adding ' The electric atmosphere of this particular quiz is what set it apart fromt he rest of the shows that we have participated in so far."

Students of DAV Public School found the quiz very 'unique' and said ,"We were very excited to take part when we were informed that the best banner and the best cheering team would win prizes."

The banners and colourful props that the students carried were displayed in their entire glory, adding visual appeal to the cheerleading skills of all those present. `Enlightening the minds, lighting the Nation; HT PACE a smart creation!' proclaimed the banner of the Best Banner prize winners, Little Flower Senior Secondary School. Other slogans on display were `HT PACE, Changing the World's Pace,' HT is a Power House, Born to Succeed' and `Freedom of Speech and Expression with HT PACE'.
